Education Consultant, Inspirational Speaker, Social Commentator, Personal Development, Storyteller/Performer

PROJECT ROCKIT is a Victorian-based Anti-bullying and Youth Leadership program that is run by young people for young people. Launched in 2006 by sisters Lucy and Rosie Thomas, PROJECT ROCKIT is the outcome of two young people who wanted to achieve change. Since then, PROJECT ROCKIT has worked with over 25,000 young people in schools, universities and community groups, earning the reputation as the “student’s choice”.

What themes are recurring in your work?

We believe that school should be a safe and comfortable place for everyone and we want to build a space where imagination, leadership and acceptance are available to all young people, regardless of social labels. We recognise that students are the key players in setting their year level and school culture so we work with students to empower them to create a positive culture.

What have been the highlights of your career?

We’ve been really fortunate to have some incredible opportunities to work with people we really admire as well as the opportunities to be part of some amazing initiatives. We’ve spoken at national and international conferences, been the opening musical act at a school festival (yes, we’re both muso’s too!) and loads more exciting memories. By far the most important achievement is the changes we’ve seen in schools over the course of our programs. The tougher the crowd is to begin with, the bigger the reward when they start to open up and stand up for what they believe in.
