Lauren Burns OAM, Naturopath, Nutritionist, Herbalist (BHSc) Olympic Gold Medallist, Taekwondo Sydney 2000

Lauren Burns created sporting history by winning the first Olympic gold medal for Taekwondo when the sport made its debut at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games. The nation watched as Lauren’s victory brought the Australian public and Olympic crowd to its feet. Before her Olympic win, few people knew that Lauren had been 12 times Australian Champion and had achieved a string of international titles including numerous medals at world championship level.

What themes are recurring in your work?

Excitement, passion, hard work, strategy, planning and enjoying what you do!

What have been the highlights of your career?

Olympic gold medal at the Sydney Olympics, writing two books (a process I absolutely adored), achieving a Bachelor Health Science.

What are you passionate about?

I am passionate about anyone who is willing to follow what they love, step outside their comfort zone and seek enjoyment in what they enjoy.

Moving through the challenges, hard times and mistakes to learn, grow and develop as a person or advance a project.

I love food, cooking and preparing nourishing meals for people to enjoy. I also love ceramics and making functional pieces. It is so much nicer to eat off a handmade piece made by someone you know.
