Jessica Shirvington is the author of the international bestselling series:The Violet Eden Chapters (also known as The Embrace Series), a young-adult paranormal romance series that debuted with Embrace in 2010 and was closely followed by Entice, Emblaze, Endless andEmpower. The series has gone on to sell in a large number of international markets including the USA, UK, Germany, Japan, Turkey, Brazil, Czech, Hungary and Poland.

Jessica also released a stand alone novel in 2013 – Between the Lives– and has another two book series on the way in 2014. Jessica’s first picture book is also in the works with HarperCollins Australia and will be released shortly.

Where were you born?

I was born in Sydney, Australia.

What other jobs have you had?

I came from a hospitality background and owned a fine foods import and distribution company in London. After 6 years in London we moved back to Sydney and I sold the business. That was when I started writing.

What themes are recurring in your work?

To date, all of my books are young adult/ adult cross over, with strong female protagonists finding their paths while dealing with life changing events ranging from internal and emotional issues to battling biblical style Armageddon.

What have been the highlights of your career?

Getting my first publishing contract. Seeing the amazing reader response around the world. Signing the TV & Film rights to the CW Network along with Steven Spielberg’s Amblin Entertainment and CBS Studios. And publishing my first stand-alone novel.

Haven’t I seen you before?

If you have seen me before it probably has more to do with my husband (ex-Olympian and TV presenter) than it does with me. As an author, I spend a lot of time hidden away in dark rooms!
