Danielle Brogan is a professional football (soccer) player of the highest level. She currently plays for Sydney FC in the Australian W-League and has been part of the Matildas squad – the Australia women’s national association football team – since 2009.
Raised in Sydney’s inner west, Danielle first represented NSW in football at the age of 12 and was a NSWIS Scholarship holder from 2003 to 2012. Her football achievements are many, including being 2003 NSW School Girl representative and selected in the Australian School Girls team in that year, a member of the NSW Sapphires (2003-2006), and representing Australia in the Young Matildas (U20 national team) between 2004 and 2006.
Danielle was part of the FFA Club Champions Program, an Australian Government funded initiative, and was trained to provide information sessions on alcohol and other drugs to football players at all levels. She is a talented speaker who is able to communicate with a wide range of audiences, but her current focus is to work with school-based young people, particularly young women and promote healthy lifestyles and positive choices.
