Anthony Eaton has been writing books for children, young adults, and adults for over ten years and speaks regularly at schools and writers festivals across Australia.

Where were you born?

I was born in a small town called Rabaul, in Papua New Guinea, which was buried by a volcano during the early 1990s

What themes are recurring in your work?

I don’t really write to a particular theme – I believe that ideas are everywhere, and so I spend my whole time eavesdropping on other people and keeping my eyes open. You never know when the next big idea is going to jump out and lodge itself in your head.

What have been the highlights of your career?

In 2005 I got to travel to Antarctica to research my novel Into White Silence, and this was one of the most incredible experiences of my life.

Where have your works been published?

Writing. Lots of writing. And also learning – I think that you never stop learning ever, and you need to be always looking for the next bit of knowledge to add to your collection; being interested in absolutely everything. This is how you become a fully rounded person.
